Project Overview

The aim of this project is to redesign the Pocket app, to enhance user experience, improve functionality, and align it with the evolving needs of the target audience.
The redesigned app will provide users with a seamless and intuitive platform for digital payments, money management, savings, and potential investment opportunities.

Project Goals

Enhance User Experience: Streamline the app's interface, navigation, and interactions to create a user-centric experience that is intuitive, efficient, and visually appealing.
Improve Accessibility: Make the app more accessible, by designing modern and visually appealing interface design.

Research

Reached out to various people based on tweets concerning the app, asked for ways that would improve their usability.

Seun is a driven Nigerian business owner who values efficiency and convenience in managing her e-commerce store's finances. She is actively seeking a digital payment solution that integrates seamlessly with her business, offers multiple payment options, and enables quick and secure money transfers. Seun's primary pain point lies in the absence of a send money feature in the Pocket app, which restricts her ability to make direct transfers.

After different conversations I was able to list out a few problems :

  • The home screen of the app exhibited excessive content and lacked proper organization, causing confusion and a cluttered user experience
  • The app lacks a crucial shop icon, impeding users' ability to conveniently access the shop and hindering seamless navigation within the application.
  • The app's business account is missing a fundamental feature: the ability to send money, which was a specific concern raised by Seun during her feedback.

Sketches

I started sketching, and putting my ideas into drawings. It allows me to think more freely and explore unconventional design solutions that I might not have considered otherwise.

Conclusion

In summary, my redesign work has greatly improved the Pocket app. The updated version now has a more user-friendly interface, works seamlessly across devices. By identifying user pain points and proposing effective solutions, I have played a vital role in improving its functionality and enhancing the overall user experience.
